About Chris Bordeleau
I am a photographer located in Western New York with 20 years experience. I got my start with my Grandfather's Minolta x-700 while at Boston University working in B&W film.
Being a photographer you know that every scene you photograph has been photographed hundreds, thousands maybe millions of times. The challenge I look to overcome is doing something different. As I study a subject I try and find different angles, lighting conditions and perspective to not just capture the scene but create something new.
I am not a purist in that I use digital editing to push a subject. My goal is to have you at the edge of believing that the scene is real or not. Waiting for the moment in a sunset when the sky is the perfect shade, the stars are lined up or shadow and light play intrigues, then capturing enough detail in both the shadows and the highlights, stopping motion or exaggerating it mixes art and science to a degree enjoyed by few other art forms.
My tools are what ever allows me to do this. Camera and computer, tripod and software. I will never fully master this as the perfect photograph is always the next one to be created but I will enjoy the journey.
I predominately shoot nature, landscape and urban/cityscape photography, freezing a moment in time that will never happen again. Taking the time to capture these moments is one of the great pleasures in my life. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Outside of photography I rise my two daughters, Madeleine & Nicole with my wife of 15 years, Elizabeth in our adopted village of Kenmore, NY. I am also a Firefighter at Kenmore Fire Department. Seems like there are not enough hours in the day.
If you see something you like but want another crop or slight edit let me know and we can work something out.
